The α7C uses the same 4D FOCUS function as the popular α9. It quickly recognizes the object and stably tracks it with a wide coverage area. 693 phase detection AF points cover approx. 93% of the image area.
Reliable and stable object tracking
Higher-quality portraits are obtained thanks to the reliable object tracking function. As with previous models, this camera requires a half-press of the preset shutter button to activate. Another new way to quickly start real-time tracking, even when AF-C mode is not selected, is to press the AF-ON button on the α7C. Focus is maintained even if the subject's face is not fully illuminated or if glasses are worn.
Reliable handheld photo and video shooting
The α7C's 5-axis image stabilization mechanism compensates for five types of camera shake. Image quality remains excellent even when shooting without a gyro stabilizer or at night. Among these types are [1, 2] angular jitter (horizontal and vertical), which often appears in telephoto lenses, [3, 4] shifts along the X and Y axes when zooming in, and [5] rotational jitter ( along the Z axis), undesirable during night shooting.
