Appearance and design features


The sleek and foldable design is not only ergonomically pleasing, but also practical. The Steadicam can be easily and conveniently transported, and, if necessary, brought into working condition in a matter of seconds. Weight including magnetic mount is up to 400 grams. Thanks to these dimensions, it can be transported in a small bag, backpack pocket, etc. It does not take up much space, but is useful for hiking, traveling, etc.

The manufacturer equipped the DJI OM SE Steadicam with a powerful motor with high torque, which improves stabilization. When used, it quickly responds to user commands, ensuring comfortable and enjoyable operation. The stabilizer has a comfortable orthopedic handle with a grip angle of 15°. This allows you to ensure maximum comfort during long filming.


At the end there is a special tripod hole with a ¼” standard mount. This allows you to use a folding mini tripod or any other suitable tripod for shooting. The stabilizer is equipped with a Bluetooth 5.0 wireless communication module.

Innovative smartphone mount

The smartphone is secured using a special magnetic holder with a clamp. This allows you to get many benefits from using the stabilizer. This mounting method does not block the phone interface, which gives the user access to the functionality of the smartphone. It fits nicely and ergonomically in the hand, so the user can comfortably shoot for a long time.

The magnetic holder is compatible with all smartphones with a width from 67 mm to 84 mm and a thickness from 6.9 to 10 mm. In this case, the weight should not exceed 290 grams. The smartphone can be used with a case.


It is important to note that the magnetic attachment force is 50 N. This can negatively affect pacemakers, RAM chips, magnetic cards, hard drives and other objects for which the magnetic field creates interference.

Advanced control system

The manufacturer has thought through the location of each button so that the user can interact with it comfortably. Thanks to this, the user can operate with one hand. Such opportunities open up broad horizons for creativity, in particular the shooting of unique and cinematic content. During the shooting process, you can quickly change the angle, find new and unusual points from which you can shoot.

The user can control the smartphone's cameras using gestures, which makes it easier to take group photos or selfies. Using the “V” gesture or raising your hand up with your palm open, you can activate your smartphone’s camera. Such opportunities open up settings in the proprietary DJI Mimo application.

Using the quick options menu, the user can independently assign the desired commands to the joystick and buttons. This allows you to flexibly adapt the Steadicam to different situations. You can switch from video recording mode to photo shooting mode with one press of the M button.

Built-in shooting modes

The manufacturer made sure that the user had the opportunity to create bright, unique and attractive content. For these purposes, a whole list of shooting modes has been implemented. They will complement the shooting, making it exciting and enjoyable.

• Portrait – the ability to shoot in portrait format;
• Timelapse – allows you to create charming stories, flexibly “playing” with time, scrolling through it, revealing creative ideas and directorial potential;
• Motionlapse – by placing your smartphone at pre-selected points, you can create a bright and dynamic video using the interval shooting method;
• Hyperlapse – slows down the action, allowing you to see the events taking place in great detail.
• Intelligent Shooting Modes

Thanks to intelligent shooting technologies, the user can add a special “zest” to the content, making it unique. The presence of additional modes will not only allow you to get high-quality material, but will also make the shooting process fun and interesting.

• ActiveTrack 3.0 object tracking technology – allows you to track an object while keeping it in the frame. The built-in learning algorithm will improve the quality of frames, make shooting as smooth as possible and accurately focus on a given object. Working in conjunction with electronic and three-axis image stabilization, greatly improving the quality of captured content.
• Story Mode is the ideal solution for shooting cool and attractive short videos in the Stories style. The user has access to a set of templates for editing material. You can add music, various effects and much more. This will allow a person far from cinematography to create an attractive video.
• DynamicZoom – dynamic zoom mode allows you to shoot footage using a well-known technique in cinematography - the “Hitchcock effect”. To create a dynamic scene, it is enough to use the advanced algorithms of the stabilizer.
• Quick Roll - allows you to easily and simply change the shooting mode from vertical to horizontal and vice versa. Also, using the trigger and the M button, the user can shoot from absolutely any angle.
• CloneMe Pano - allows you to create the effect of presence in several places by cloning pictures and combining them into one large panorama. A panoramic photo is created based on 3 photos with a pause of 5 seconds. The user can independently choose the position for the most bright and individual frame.
• FlashLight – a special motion sensor allows you to recognize operator actions and respond to them. Which contributes to better camera stabilization. For example, when you need to move from the top angle to the bottom.
• SpinShot – allows you to make a 270º turn using the joystick. This option can be used during recording. For example, when shooting in slow motion.

Separately, it is worth noting the standby mode, which allows you to use the phone without restrictions on functionality. For example, if a call is received on the smartphone while filming, the operator can easily and simply answer it. Just remove the phone from the magnetic holder and the Steadicam will go into standby mode.

Using the tools available in the application, the user can edit photo and video content. There are many convenient templates and functionality available with different modes of operation.
