A unique Dolly Zoom effect straight from the movies in your backpack! The DJI Mavic 2 Zoom may not have a Hasselblad camera installed , like its older brother DJI Mavic 2 Pro , but this copter boasts 4x zoom. The second difference in the camera is autofocus. Updating this function made it possible to recognize shadow and contrast phases many times faster and more accurately than the first generation by 40%.

AF Tracking tracks objects in the frame, making them appear sharper as they move away and vice versa. Another “killer feature” has been created for Zoom, the so-called “DollyZoom”. It is also called “verdigo effect”, “counter-zoom”, “expanding space effect”. A cinematic special effect obtained by combining the camera's movement of the optical axis of the lens and smoothly measuring its focal length in reverse order. Mavic can take HDR photos; this is achieved by automatically combining a series of frames with different exposures (13–14 aperture steps).

Mavic 2 became the first quadcopter in the world with Hyperlaps technology. Shooting takes place fully automatically using a built-in 3-axis stabilizer. To start, you must select one of 4 modes:

• Flight by control points (you manually set the location where the copter should fly)
• Course fixation (direct movement with the ability to move the camera)
• Autonomous (manual)
• Circular shooting (along a radius with the camera focusing on the center)

DJI Mavic 2 Zoom – received Flight Autonomy 2.0. The updated version can detect obstacles on all sides.

• A pair of front sensors detect obstacles at speeds of up to 50 km/h and a distance of 40 m. The viewing angle is 40 and 70 degrees (horizontal, vertical).

• Side sensors operate at horizontal take-off speeds of up to 29 km/h. Capable of tracking obstacles up to 80 degrees horizontally and 65 degrees vertically. It is these sensors that make it possible to fly safely in ActiveTrack and Tripod modes.

• The rear sensors can see obstacles at a distance of 32 m at a speed of no more than 43 km/h. Viewing angle up to 60 degrees (horizontal) and 77 degrees (vertical)

• The lower sensors detect from 11 to 22 meters. Measurement accuracy up to 8 meters. If there is insufficient lighting during landing, the drone activates a special backlight.

• Upper sensors allow you to fly under bridges, arches and in enclosed spaces. The accuracy is 8m.

The new M2 brushless motors are paired with ESC FOC (Field Oriented Control) speed controllers. The speed limit increased to 72 km/h. In the first Mavika it was limited to only 65 km/h. The battery life has also been upgraded, from 27 minutes in the old model to 31 m in the Mavic 2 Zoom. This allows you to enjoy flying like a bird even longer.
