DJI Air 3 quadcopter
DJI Air 3 quadcopter introduced in July 2023. The main feature of the new drone is a dual main camera with a wide-angle lens and teleoptics. It allows you to choose the desired viewing angle in each shooting scenario, conveying the incredible beauty of panoramic frames to the video or focusing on small details.
Flight characteristics
DJI Air 3 has become larger and has powerful, energy-efficient motors. This increased the stability of the quadcopter, made it easier to control and increased the maximum flight time by 48% to 46 minutes. The innovative charging station allows you to charge three batteries in series. It can also be used in autonomous mode, “pumping” all available energy from two batteries to a third, which increases the actual flight time in difficult conditions.
The updated O4 HD communication system with anti-interference protection ensures reliable connection between the remote control and the drone at a distance of up to 20 km and at an altitude of up to 6 km. The maximum travel speed is 75 km/h, and the ascent and descent speed is 10 m/s. Thanks to powerful motors and electronic stabilization, the quadcopter resists wind gusts of up to 12 m/s.
DJI Air 3 can be purchased by both aerial photography professionals and beginners. It gets APAS 5.0 omnidirectional collision avoidance system. When it detects obstacles, it initiates a safe evasive maneuver—with a smooth trajectory and no sudden course changes. The system also operates in automatic movement mode to the base, which allows you to pick up the drone with one click of a button.
All about the camera
In the new quadcopter, both camera modules are built on the basis of CMOS matrices with a resolution of 48 megapixels and a physical size of 1/1.3 inches. The main difference between them is optics.
The wide-angle camera is equipped with 24mm optics with f/1.7 aperture. It is ideal for working in low light conditions. With its help, you can get a soft bokeh effect - an unobtrusive blur of the background, drawing attention to details in the foreground.
The camera provides optics with an effective focal length of 72 mm and an f/2.8 aperture. Compared to the wide-angle module, it provides 3x optical zoom without loss of quality. Its lens is suitable for working in different scenarios, including bright frontal illumination.
The dual camera is capable of recording video in 4K resolution at up to 100 frames per second or up to 60 fps when working in HDR mode. It supports 10-bit D-Log M and HLG color schemes, which allows the operator to produce uncompressed videos with natural tones that accurately convey all the nuances of the scene.

A key feature of the new drone is the FocusTrack function. It helps keep your subject precisely in the center of the frame to record cinematic-quality video with perfect composition.
Other benefits of DJI Air 3:
- the ability to record vertical videos at 2.7K resolution without the need for manual cropping;
- Waypoint Flight function, which allows you to pre-program the flight direction, the “hover” time at each point and the camera rotation angle;

DJI Air 3 Package Contents
The basic version of the quadcopter is equipped with an RC-N2 remote control. It comes with cables for connecting mobile devices with USB Type-C and Apple Lightning ports. The kit also includes 3 pairs of propellers, one battery, a Type-C Power Delivery cable, and a camera gimbal mount.
The drone can also be purchased in the extended configuration DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo. In addition to standard accessories, it includes:
- two additional batteries;
- charging station with the function of “pumping” energy;
- bag for transportation and storage.
The Fly More Combo version can also be equipped with an improved DJI RC 2 remote control with a built-in screen. It features an upgraded communication system that allows you to transmit high-resolution video signals over long distances without interference or significant delays.
