Batteries for quadcopters
Batteries for quadcopters
Batteries for quadcopters (quadcopter batteries) are designed to power the motors, electronics and other systems of the quadcopter. Without them, the quadcopter will not be able to fly.
Typically, quadcopter batteries have a high energy density to ensure sufficient capacity for long flights. They should also be light and compact so as not to add unnecessary weight to the quadcopter or take up too much space inside its body.
Quadcopter batteries usually have a special design and construction that ensures safety and durability during flight. For example, they may have overcharge/discharge and short circuit protection features to prevent damage to the battery and the quadcopter. In addition, many batteries have smart features such as displaying battery charge level, battery temperature, and battery status alerts.
DJI produces a wide range of batteries for its quadcopters, providing high performance and long flight time.
- One of the most popular batteries is the Intelligent Flight Battery for the Mavic Air 2, which has a capacity of 3500 mAh and a voltage of 11.55 V. It can provide up to 34 minutes of flight time and charges quickly using the charger.
- The other battery is the Intelligent Flight Battery for the Phantom 4, which has a capacity of 5870 mAh and a voltage of 15.2 V. It provides up to 28 minutes of flight time and charges quickly using the Phantom 4 charger.
- The Intelligent Flight Battery for the Inspire 2 is a 4280 mAh 22.8 V lithium-ion battery that provides up to 27 minutes of flight time and is highly reliable and stable.
- A 3850 mAh 15.4V Intelligent Flight Battery is available for the Mavic 2. It provides up to 31 minutes of flight time for the Mavic 2 Pro and up to 29 minutes for the Mavic 2 Zoom.
- Finally, the Mini 2 comes with a 2,250 mAh 7.7 V Intelligent Flight Battery that provides up to 31 minutes of flight time and is easy to use thanks to its compact design.
- DJI Mavic 3 uses an Intelligent Flight Battery with a capacity of 5200 mAh and a voltage of 15.4 V. It provides up to 45 minutes of flight time (depending on flight conditions) and charges quickly using the charger. The battery also has overcharge and overdischarge and short circuit protection functions, ensuring safety during flight.
- DJI Matrice 300 uses two types of batteries: TB60 Intelligent Flight Battery and WB37 Intelligent Battery.
- The TB60 Intelligent Flight Battery has a capacity of 5935 mAh and a voltage of 52.8 V, which provides up to 55 minutes of flight time when using the Matrice 300 with an empty weight of up to 9 kg. The battery is quickly charged by the charger, and also has overcharge and overdischarge and short circuit protection function, ensuring safety during flight.
- The WB37 Intelligent Battery is a rechargeable battery for the Matrice 300 RTK that provides longer flight time. This battery has a capacity of 4920 mAh and a voltage of 7.6 V, and it can be used to power the repair management controller, providing an additional operating time of up to 4.5 hours. The battery can also be quickly charged using the charger and has overcharge and overdischarge and short circuit protection functions, ensuring safety during operation.
- DJI Matrice 30 and DJI Matrice 30T use TB30 batteries.
Autel Robotics produces batteries for its EVO and EVO II quadcopters.
The battery for the EVO has a capacity of 4300 mAh and a voltage of 11.1 V, providing up to 30 minutes of flight time. It also has an intelligent charge management system that provides fast and safe charging and protection against overload, overcharging and short circuit.
The battery for the EVO II has a capacity of 7100 mAh and a voltage of 11.55 V, providing up to 40 minutes of flight time. It also has an intelligent charge management system that provides fast and safe charging and protection against overload, overcharging and short circuit.
It is important to note that the use of non-original batteries may void the warranty and reduce the performance and safety of the quadcopter, so it is recommended to use only original batteries manufactured by the quadcopter manufacturer.
